Almost nightly lately, smoke is rising from balconies and beaches in Kits. Grillin’ season is here kids and I love the smell of charred cow. I was pleased to be at Rob’s place last night for the “official opening” of their deck. As usual, the food was great and I got my drink on celebrating another Saturday night.
Anyway, there are a few things to remember for your upcoming BBQ season. As mentioned briefly in this blog a few weeks ago, Market Meats on West 4th is a great destination for all things meat. The boys here always take care of my questions and needs. Spend the few extra bucks on quality meat, you won’t be disapointed. Now if you’re doing sausages or smokies, you’ll need a great bun and COBS bread West 4th location is the place to find it. I can remember only a few years ago when running out of propane for the Barby meant having to go to Main Street or further to refill the tank. Not anymore. Just head to the Petro Canada station on 4th and do the tank exchange. Most other gas stations in the area now offer an exchange program. Nice not having to leave the hood.
I’m also a big fan of taking the portable grill down to the beach for a great feed and killer view. Look for an upcoming post on the “Beach BBQ Season Opener” coming soon. See ya on the grass with the locals.
