I dropped into Watermark last night for the first time and I must say, it is a pretty nice looking restaurant. We only had drinks and appys but it looks like this restaurant is going to be a hit. They have only been open for four days, so they are still experiencing some opening night issues but I didn’t notice anything out of step.
After quizzing our waiter, we learned that wait staff has been poached from other restaurants like Earl’s, the Teahouse and Sandbar – so they’re experienced and know what they’re doing. Apparently, there have been some issues with the squirrel cash register system forcing waiters in the bar area to run their orders over to the kitchen the old fashion way. This technology glitch was a result of a mini-flood in the bar area- kind of ironic considering the name of the restaurant.
”Watermark on Kits Beach" has been the most popular search topic on Kitsilano blog to date, so Mikey and I are going on Thursday night for a full meal and will both report back on our experience. Be sure to make reservations (604-738-KITS), tables are becoming hard to come by.
