New Year’s Eve in Kitsilano

1566

Bimini_1 Two weeks until New Year’s Eve and the Kitsilano.ca contingent has chosen Bimini’s as our party venue this year. Mikey wasn’t interested in going downtown, so we’re staying on the Westside to ring in 2006. Our short list included Hell’s Kitchen and the Urban Well but Bimini’s won out. Their $40 ticket includes champagne and party favours at midnight and all the time you want on the dance floor (live band) from 9pm to 3am. Bonus: Ticket includes a $10 gift certificate for use in 2006.

On a sad note, former Kitsilano-powerhouse Malone’s on Cornwall has reached an all time low and is advertising ‘no cover’ on New Year’s Eve. On the biggest party night of the year, this place has to beg people to come thru the door. How pathetically sad!

“Tapas & Bubbly” at Hell’s Kitchen for $40. DJ and dance floor – that’s right… a dance floor at the Kitchen!

Just had my birthday party on a Saturday night at Bimini’s, based on Rob’s recommendation…we had a great time with the delicious drinks, friendly staff, and awesome danceable tunes like “Brown-Eyed Girl” and all the other just-cheesy-enough classics with a good beat. A word to the wise…be sure to call ahead for a reservation, and they’re very strict about your party getting in at a certain time.
