I’m not sure which contributor over at Beyond Robson recently reviewed East is East but he or she have me convinced to give it a shot.
East is East is a quaint, tiny restaurant on West Broadway near Blenheim. Blink and you’ll miss it. I almost did. A good friend raved to me about this place some months ago. He described the food as Middle-Eastern. Having sampled a dinner plate of organic lamb kebab, lentil soup, basmati rice, plain roti and chicken masala, I’d pull back the category further and say it’s a gentle blending of a few Eastern influences. Say, they were really on to something when they named their restaurant!

East is East is really good. Actually, I prefer to the take out menu over the sit down stuff. The roti rolls are excellent. We have them all the time.
That would have been Clinton and he is the second to last addition to the BR family.
Hey, glad you liked both the restaurant and blog post. I recently went back to East for a second helping and it was just as good. might start doing the take-out thing though; those seats can get rough.
