In an early post, I mentioned the fact that my credit card statements are usually rife with purchases made at establishments on West Broadway and West 4th Avenue. That is all well and good, but doing my bit to keep the neighbourhood economy healthy is only one part of being a well-rounded, contributing member of my (new!) community. To this end, I have been prowling the listings on Go Volunteer.
Here are a few gigs in the area that I found with a quick search through the site. The BC SPCA is looking for animal-loving setup and teardown volunteers for its annual Paws for a Cause walk on September 10th in Vanier Park. The Heart and Stroke Foundation is seeking brochure and recruitment volunteers for several neighbourhoods including Kits. Lastly, the Motivation, Power, & Achievement Society needs drivers to pick up donations so they can provide meals for the homeless at their Community Resource Centre, just east of Burrard on West 4th. There are literally hundreds of listing for the Lower Mainland, and many others to be found in Kits!

Hi! Do you own a puppy? I am trying to get in touch as I may have a sibling of your pooch. The email I was given didn’t work.
