While walking West 4th today I noticed the new awning going up at Bistrot Bistro, the new restaurant going in at the old Great Wok location across from Gastropod Fuel. This is the same Great Wok that has been serving the Best Dry Ginger Beef in Vancouver for years. If this new joint turns out as well as their neighbours across the street, this could become quite the foodie’s block.
After a quick visit to their under construction website, I found a link to their opening soon blog that details the trials and tribulations involved in starting a restaurant. Here’s a great idea for the Bistrot Boys to help them fit right in the neighbourhood: keep the Dry Ginger Beef on the menu – with their own twist of course.

Thanks you for the welcome to kits, a neighbourhood we are starting to know well since we’ve lived here for month one in Vancouver.
We are excited to bring an other option to 4th avenue. Unfortunatly we have had to retire the fry ginger machine as you can appreciate on the blog it was tired and in need of a lot of rest. LOL
But we have other great surprises to showcase and to insure that we make kits proud for welcoming us in one of the nicest part of town.
West 4th is going to change a lot over the next few years.
Lots of room for more grub shacks.
