I recently noticed the Starbucks banner on the Black Swan development. This opening will not only add to the steadily growing list of Starbucks locations in Kitsilano, but it will also mark the definitive end of a distinct Kitsilano landmark.
A quick peek at Macfourth suggests that this is not the only change along this stretch of West 4th. Textura Salon has recently opened their doors, as did another sushi restaurant. But Macfourth is particularly happy about the future opening of Little White House, a vintage home decor store featuring – surprise, surprise – a lot of white. Reminds me somewhat of Ta Da!, which used to be at the corner of Vine on Broadway (now the home of Lisette and Frocks). Although I’m not into the whole vintage home decor thing, I was actually sad to see Ta Da! go. I was glad to read that the owner appears to have landed on her feet, as she has since opened Butter Baked Goods on Dunbar.

I went into Little White House today with a friend – today was their first “open” day. The awning is not changed yet, so I’m sure a Grand Opening is a ways off, but it looked pretty fun from what I saw. 🙂
