Erik reported a three weeks ago that Chianti’s was on its way out and hipster Steak was on the way in to Kits with Pinky’s Steakhouse opening up across the street. It turns out Erik was on to a much larger trend. Andrew over at Urbandiner reported yesterday that a new tenant is crossing the Burrard Street bridge straight from Yaletown to open a 2nd location. Glowbal is taking over the space that Chianti’s called home for 19 years.

Just so you don’t scare the crap out of your readers, it isn’t Glowbal that is taking over the spot. Rather, it’s Glowbal’s parent company, the Glowbal Group (Coast, Italian Kitchen, Sanafir, Glowbal, Afterglow). What they do with the space is entirely up in the air.
