PHAT Now Open

1801

PHATAfter Trattoria Italian Kitchen, PHAT is the next foodie place to open in the 1800 block of West 4th. Originally slated to open their doors in July, they must have hit some delays as they opened their doors about a week ago.

The space looks small but cozy, and well suited for scarfing down large quantities of specially flown-in Montreal smoked meat on a thin slice of bread. Hours are pretty great, as they are open from 8am until 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 6pm on the weekend. In addition to a whole range of classic deli sandwiches, they also offer all-day breakfast (bennies and bagels), soups, salads, and starchy sides (including poutine).

Next up will be Pinkys and Piato, who are both set to open in September.

[UPDATE August 17th: Yesterday, during the Summer of Love Festival, I tried a Montreal smoked meat Ruebens. WOW. The Kitsilano sandwich scene just got even better!]
