The Kitsilano Soapbox Derby was a time honored tradition on the West Side for 17 years. This year the tradition is gone but the soapbox race is back with a vengeance.
The Red Bull Soapbox Race challenges 56 teams of up to four members each to craft zany human-powered driving machines to race against the clock and each other in a downhill dash to the finish line. On September 7th at 1pm, these road warriors will put their skills to the test down West 4th Avenue, from Vine to Burrard. Should be quite the show.
