Aunt Em’s moves to West Broadway

2602

One of the long standing tenants of Granville Island’s Kids Market is making a move. Having outgrown their cramped market space where they were paying big retail rent, Aunt Em’s has recently moved into their new 2670 West Broadway digs (the former Wild at Heart: Raw Food for Pets location @ Trafalgar).

I happened to walk by the first day they were open a few weeks ago now, and they really did a great job with the space. There’s less clutter than in the original store, and it looks modern and fresh.

Aunt Em’s offers a great selection of clothing, shoes (they also own Scallywags, a great little shoe store at the Kids Market), raincoats, rain boots, accessories, and more.

In their new location, Aunt Em’s focus will be primarily on active wear for toddlers/kids, teens, and women. According to their under-construction-website, they currently carry brands like Quiksilver, Roxy, Lilikiks, Public Mith, Alternative, Billabong, Geox, Merrell, Stride Rite, New Balance, Keen, Blundstone, Vans, Keds, Converse, Kamik, Hatley, Nomad, Kidorable, Western Chief, Chooka, Jansport, and more.

[UPDATE: We went into Aunt Em’s again today and I had the good fortune to chat a little more to the extremely friendly owner. Turns out that Aunt Em’s will not abandon its Kids Market location by the end of this month as originally planned. Kids Market has asked them to stay a few more months until a new tenant is found. This means that for the next few months they will have three locations (Scallywags and Aunt Em’s at Kids Market and Aunt Em’s on Broadway. This also means that the Broadway store doesn’t have its full inventory yet, but more items will be added over time.]
