Connie’s Cookhouse

The parental-in-law-units are back in town, which means a number of niceties:

  • Arbutus Market (Arbutus & West 6th) coffee and muffins (!) delivered in the morning;
  • stocking up on wine and beer;
  • and, most importantly, a great excuse to visit “Connie”.

Connie’s Cookhouse (2135 West 4th @ Arbutus) serves up some pretty awesome Chinese food. We’ve tried many different items on the menu, and some of our favourites include the dry ribs, BBQ Pork, Chicken & Black Bean Sauce, and any dish with cashews.

Not only is the food delicious, super fresh, and MSG free, but Connie is extremely nice and typically appears un-phased by my father-in-law’s random comments and requests for lemon for his Chinese food. Oh, and there is a signed picture of David Suzuki on the wall – always a good sign.
