Where to recycle in Kitsilano

2005

zero-waste-iconVancouver constantly faces the question of how to effectively manage the waste produced by our ever-growing population. We can all play our part in the Zero Waste Challenge by consciously reducing the amount of waste we each produce.

Metro Vancouver has launched a new tool to help connect people with reuse, recycling and safe disposal services in their area. Metro Vancouver Recycles is a directory of over 1,300 locations in Metro Vancouver to donate, recycle or appropriately dispose of unwanted items such as computers, clothing, toys, building materials, furniture and much more. It also lists places to find used items.

If you’re interested in getting involved, Metro Vancouver has initiated a series of public consultations to discuss where we are now and where we intend to go with new targets for reducing waste, managing liquid waste and planning for the growth of our region. While there isn’t any consultation meetings scheduled to take place in Kitsilano, there will be a Zero Waste Challenge meeting held at the BCIT Downtown Campus on April 29th from 6:30pm – 9:00pm.
