Save the IGA Lot & Go Canucks!

1562

The folks against the current redevelopment plans for the IGA lot at 2080 West Broadway are getting organized and rallying the troops. They’ve launched a Save the IGA Lot! website (& the obligatory Facebook Group) and are calling for volunteers to spare an hour or two to help pass out information at the site this Saturday from 10am to 2pm.

If you’re interested, they’ll have printed flyers for distribution and are looking for 2-3 people at each of the David Hunter store, the IGA, the liquor store and redevelopment notification board on Maple Street.

Considering Saturday will be game #2 for the Canucks against the Blackhawks, all they need to do is push aside the Girl Guides and Cadets from in front of the liquor store and they’ll have enough support to insure the developer’s plans never see the light of day.

God forbid a property owner do what they want with private property. I can’t stand the NIMBYs in this city.

If every property owner in this city did want they want there wouldn’t be a park or green space anywhere.
