Free tickets for Bard on the Beach’s Othello

2728

bardThe Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival opens its 20th Anniversary Season with the powerful tragedy Othello enjoying its first-ever staging at the Festival and Kitsilano.ca is giving away a pair of tickets for the performance on Friday, June 5th.

One of Shakespeare’s best-known tragedies, Othello reveals how jealousy, prejudice, deceit and betrayal can drive innocent love to tragedy. Angry that the noble moor Othello has promoted inexperienced Cassio instead of him, Iago sets out to exact revenge. In a dazzling display of villainy, Iago convinces Othello that his new bride Desdemona has been unfaithful with Cassio, driving Othello to rage, madness and murder.

Othello runs Tuesdays to Sundays in the 520-seat open-ended Mainstage tent in Vanier Park from May 28 to September 25th. Tickets are $34 for evenings and $18 to $28.50 for previews/matinees.

There are four ways to enter your name in the draw for the two tickets to 8:00pm performance of Othello on Friday, June 5th – comment on this blog post,  subscribe by email  to Kitsilano.ca (see subscribe box in bottom right corner), follow Kitsilano.ca on Twitter or retweet this post on Twitter.

BONUS: You can enter your name in the draw four times by doing each activity once.

If Friday June 5th doesn’t work for your schedule, head over to www.bardonthebeach.org or call 604-739-0559 to buy tickets for another date.

Be sure to enter often before the end of May – the winner will be annonced here on June 1st. Good luck!
