Vinocamp returns to UBC with CheeseCamp

VinoCamp 2009 is happening next month at UBC’s Thea Koerner House and this year event organizers have found the ideal pairing – CheeseCamp.

vinocamplogo1This is definitely not the wine festival. In a more unstructured form than a standard conference, VinoCamp Vancouver, and introducing the world premiere of CheeseCamp, brings wine, cheese, people and technology together in one place, making wine and cheese accessible, educational and fun. A different type of conference, VinoCamp CheeseCamp 2009 is designed for people interested in technology, wine and cheese as participants are encouraged to take photos of what’s happening, to blog, tweet and message their experiences.

Confirmed wine track speakers include educator Mark Davidson from the International Sommelier Guild and Wine Australia,Wine Education Director Ingo Grady from Mission Hill Family Estate, local wine critic Sid Cross, and Winediva Daenna van Mulligen.

On the Cheese side is Allison Spurrell of of Kitislano’s Les Amis du Fromage and a to be annoucned rep from Kerrisdale’s Benton Brothers Fine Cheese.

This Friday is the deadline for early-bird registrations and speaker applications, so if you’re interested in either do it now.

I won two tickets to your event from the CBC. Can you tell me the times for your festival? And is there an “address” I can plug into my Navigator, or can you direct me to a map online?

Thanks, and I’m looking forward to it. Sounds like a blast.
