Caffe’Vergnano 1882 opens its doors in Kits

1882After a seemingly long period of time in construction limbo, Caffe’Vergnano 1882 quietly opened last week at 2581 West Broadway near Trafalgar Street. Their website features a rotating series of mildly amusing Dustin Hoffman adverts promoting the company (in Italian)!

As any Vancouver coffee lover would attest to, this recent addition of quality coffee houses opening around around Kits (49th Parallel, Momento Coffee Lounge, Wired Monk, etc.) makes this ‘hood an even more favourable destination. The Café Guide has already posted several positive reviews; I’m looking forward to my first visit.

I live few blocks away from Cafe Vergnano and the heat drove me there yesterday. I have to say I had one of the best experience there. Great coffee, interesting menu, great atmosphere and good music. I had their prosciutto panini and am speechless! It was really good! For drink, I had the “shakerato”, I just picked it because I liked the name, and it was refreshing. And Ariane, I do agree that this cafe does make Kits an even more favorable area.

My husband and I just went for afternoon iced Americano’s; heavenly! It’s quiet, the service is very attentive, and you guessed it, airco relief made it more than worth the visit. Nice to see a couple of outdoor tables with umbrellas added for extra seating/atmosphere. These will hopefully fill up once the heat dissipates a bit.

And they’ve got the requisite free Wifi.

    Gerry, glad you enjoyed it.

I will try this place. I hope they serve good Vietnamese ice coffee.
