Caffè Artigiano’s Wonderful Customer Service

rideau-skatingI’ve been hemming and hawing about whether or not I should do a “we moved, and these are the things we’ll miss about Kits” post for almost two months now.

We moved to Ottawa at the beginning of July. While we will most definitely miss BC, Vancouver, and especially Kits, Ottawa is a beautiful city and I have a sense we will be quite happy here. One of the things I will miss personally is writing for Kitsilano.ca. It gave me a great sense of connection to our neighbourhood, and I will continue to read the blog religiously.

Anyway, this – most likely my final – post is not about us and our move. It is about Caffè Artigiano. Just before we moved, my wife got me a beautiful, stainless steel Caffè Artigiano tumbler. Unfortunately, the cap was a little finicky. My wife then contacted Artigiano and they happily shipped a new cap to our new home in Ottawa. This cap too was a little too finicky for my taste, but I didn’t want to complain again. However, Artigiano followed up themselves to see if everything was in order. We told them we weren’t the biggest fan of the ‘click-cap’, upon which they sent us a whole new, different-style, mug. No questions asked. And to people who no longer live near a Caffè Artigiano. Now that is customer service.

So, there you have it. We’ll miss Kits dearly, and we can’t wait to come back for summer visits with the family.

In the unlikely event you’re interested in how we’re doing in Ottawa, you can follow me @erikvandertorre.

I love that cafe. See my post on Caffe’Vergnano 1882, recently (finally!) opened on Trafalgar/Broadway. We truly are blessed with good cafes AND good folk running them. Good luck and all the best for happy times in Ottawa.

Erik – Thanks for your contributions over the past couple years. You’ve help put Kitsilano.ca on the map and your regular posts will be missed.

All the best in Ottawa – keep on blogging.

    Rob.
