Many believe it’s time for the world to wake up to climate change and that a meeting amongst World Leaders this Fall in in Copenhagen will be the single greatest opportunity we will have to act on global warming. Avaaz.org, Oxfam, Greenpeace, and 350.org are coming together in a massive plan called TckTckTck to wake up World Leaders and Kits Beach will be hosting one of 2000 rallying events worldwide.

GWUCA Global Wake Up Call for climate change flash mob is being organized for noon on Monday September 21st in conjunction with rallies all over the world.

The friendly mob will meet next to the concession stand at Kits Beach and will be making noise and preparing to phone Prime Minister Harper and others at 12:18 – signifying Dec. 18th, the final day of the Copenhagen conference and the day on which an effective replacement treaty to the Kyoto Protocol has to have been agreed on.

After meeting at the concession located on the ground floor below Watermark restaurant, event organizers plan to walk the crowd along Kits Beach to demonstrate the expected effects of climate change on the water level.

Let’s hope they down end up where they started.
