The Molson Canadian 2010 Mural Project is complete and over 13,000 Canadian faces represent the final tribute to Team Canada on the side of the Molson Brewery in Kitsilano.
The final mural will remain in place for the duration of the 2010 Winter Games, and is clearly visible to anyone entering downtown Vancouver via the Burrard Street bridge located next to the brewery.

I personally don’t think this looks at all good. The design is lifeless and the image isn’t rousing or patriotic at all; it looks too aggressive. He looks either badly burned or covered in blood. What were they thinking?!
Sorry Molson – this is lazy.
Impressively scary. Reminds me of the following quote:
“Canadians are fond of a good disaster, especially if it has ice, water, or snow in it. You thought the national flag was about a leaf, didn’t you? Look harder. It’s where someone got axed in the snow.”
— Margaret Atwood
Yup. That has an axed-in-the-snow feel.
I agree with Dan – odd choice for a mosaic. Actually looked better when it was half done
Definitely comes down on the chav side of the equation.
I can’t believe Molson didn’t create this exactly to my tastes. Since I don’t like it, it must be wrong. Boohoo!
I love the mural! Very inventive to have it revealed piece by piece. I must say I’m not surprised the comments are mostly on the negative side. Typical of Vancouverites around anything Olympic related. A shame we can’t just embrace and enjoy the privelage of hosting the world and showing off our amazing city!
Well, I’m not for or against the olympics -they are going to happen no matter what I think and I really don’t care. BUT this bit of public art is disturbing. Why is this guy so greasy? Rolling around in back bacon? Why is he grimacing? Made to watch Anne of Green Gables one time too many? Maybe it’s not a grimace and something is going on under that flag…
Weak, just like their beer
