Oh friends – please let’s not let the Local run away with this one! Kits is renowned for locally owned “one-off” pubs that differentiate us from the douchiness that is downtown. The Local is owned by Joey’s and a few minutes inside you can figure that out. Reagle Beagle, Elwoods, Fox and Hound all get my vote before the Local!
The Wolf and Hound on West Broadway, easily. Not too many TVs, lots of space, consistently good beer, friendly staff and locals, good food, and quite kid friendly.
I’m with Andrea, anything but the Local please! They can call it what they will, but it’s hardly what I’d call a local pub.
I’d go with the Wolf & Hound – always a diverse, fun and friendly crowd – followed by the King’s Head & Sunset Grill. For those times when you want to be sure to avoid all Kits stereotypes, head to the Beagle or Darby’s.
However, I actually voted “other” so I could mention the fabulous Billy Bishop Legion behind Kits Beach (on Laburnum north of Cornwall). If you haven’t checked it out, I highly recommend it…if not for the proper pints and true english pub atmosphere, then to see the incredible memorabilia. I also recommend the Friday night Ceroc (jive) dancing above the pub! No membership required to drink there. Let’s support our local treasures.

Frog & Firkin on Broadway…better than the Regal Beagle a few blocks further West.
Sunset Grill, not Sunshine Grill.

Definitely the Wolf and Hound. When I was back in Kits for the holidays, it was the -one- place I definitely had to go to.
The Wolf and Hound has been added to the mix. Vote away.
Paulo – the Frog & Firkin shut its doors permanently in mid-November.
@Cathy – dooh! I didn’t realize it had closed.
I agree that the Wolf & Hound should top the list, now that it’s there.
