Report on the protest, a last-ditch effort to save Kitsilano’s General Gordon school by CKNW (AM980):

Concerned resident Jan Pierce says the school is a significant part of the neighborhoods roots.

“And there is so much history that has happened here over the last 100 years so we are out here because we love this school and we want to save it,” Pierce said.

Said teenager and former student Ilfa Francis: “It is like the centre of the community and, like, to put a box there is just not the same.”

The group complete with signs began a chant before beginning a march around the neighborhood.
