Come by the UBC Farm or Southlands Heritage Farm in October to pick up a pumpkin for decoration, carving or eating. The pumpkin patches are as local as it gets for Kits residents looking for a jack-o-lantern grown close to home. Plus, both locations are available by transit.
At the UBC Farm, carving pumpkins are $5-$10 and cooking pumpkins are $15-$20. U-pick is available during the farm’s open hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00am-5:00pm through October or while supplies last.
At Southlands Heritage Farm at Balaclava and W 51st, see the horses, pet the goats, and chose a pumpkin while you explore the old apple orchard. Open daily through October from 9am-5pm. Check in at the office upon arrival and explore the farm on a self-guided tour. Admission is by donation and pumpkins are only $5 each.

Love driving through the Richmond/Tsawwassen areas this time of year and seeing the pumpkin patches.
