While most mainstream cinemas have moved on to the the lesser blockbusters that appear immediately after awards season, it’s not too late to see the Oscar-winning films at Kitsilano’s Fifth Avenue Cinemas and The Ridge.
Fifth Avenue is showing A Separation (Best Foreign Language Film), The Artist (five Oscars including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director) and Hugo (five Oscars in technical categories).
Meanwhile The Ridge has Meryl’s The Iron Lady (Best Actress).
I’m not hoping for rain, but I do plan on donning 3-D glasses on the next wet evening and spending some QT with Scorsese’s mysterious, wonder-filled fantasy.
