I love all things French – Chanel, chocolate croissants, croque madames, French kissing! My BFF is Parisian and I have long admired her flair for fashion and ability to savour a piece of dark chocolate while I inhale my Snickers. In fact, the world as a whole seems to be having an ongoing love affair with the French.
This might be a surprise to some, but Kitsilano is actually the hub of a strong francophone community and home to Vancouver’s French Cultural Center (W 7th/Fir). June 14-24 will be the Center’s 23rd annual Summer Festival with a diverse line up of Francophone entertainers.
Our family is going to take in an afternoon children’s performance by Monsieur Bemol on June 16. With performance tickets ranging from $5-$25, the festival certainly offers affordable summertime fun!
