Kitsilano to host world’s largest cheer station for SeaWheeze Half Marathon

On Saturday, August 11th two blocks of West 4th Avenue will be closed to traffic to create the World’s largest cheer station for  The SeaWheeze lululemon Half Marathon.

lululemon is hosting their first-ever half marathon in their hometown and want to show the 7,500 runners in the sold-out half marathon was their and home neighborhood is made of.

The cheer station starts at the corner of Cypress Street and West 4th Avenue and will help power runners two blocks uphill to the turn-around at Arbutus Street.

To celebrate Kitsilano, lululemon has some amazing fun lined up for the morning starting with a FREE pancake breakfast served until 9:30am at the corner of West 4th Avenue compliments of the Boathouse Restaurant. Other activities include face painting for the kids, carnival games, yoga demonstrations and a carnival band for entertainment. And many West 4th retailers will be joining in the fun and offering samples, snacks, and cheering equipment.

The cheer section will be set up from 7:00am to 11:00 with the first runner expected at 8:15am and the majority of runners between 8:45am and 9:45am. For more information on the cheer station and road closures, visit www.seawheeze.com/community.
