Santa Claus is coming to town this weekend, and while we don’t have coordinates for him in Kits proper, you can find him nearby. The big man arrives at Granville Island’s Kids Market 11am, Saturday, December 1. The old factory turned kids zone has 30 shops for children, making it an ideal destination to browse with the whole family and then meet Santa, who’s sticking around through December 24. After that, he’s busy…
On December 2, most Vancouver families will head downtown for the annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade – a Vancover holiday tradition. The parade will start at West Georgia and Broughton (at 1:00 pm), travel east along West Georgia, turn south on Howe and finish at Howe and Davie. Now in its 9th year, the parade activities also include gingerbread decorating, charitable food donation, face-painting and more in the Art Gallery Square. Then, from 3 to 5pm, Santa will be hanging out near the Robson Square (free) Ice Skating Rink for photos with nice kiddos. Find a map of the parade route here.
