Best Holiday Light Displays?

We’re calling on readers to help out and tell us where to stroll or drive to see amazing Christmas lights around Kitsilano. Have a neighbour with a talent for light displays? Give them a shout out in the comments.

I’ll get the ball rolling by recommending the twinkly lights adorning the False Creek apartments and boats along the seawall as you walk from Kitsilano to Granville Island.

When it comes to the best holiday light displays in greater Vancouver, I’m devoted to VanDusen Botanical Garden’s annual Festival of Lights. The entire-award winning botanical garden is decked out in illuminated bling. The big draw is the enthralling “Dancing Lights” on Livingstone Lake, which burst into action every 30 minutes.  Kids can also meet Santa in his living room, and high five Svend and Jens, the Scandie Christmas gnomes.

Bright Nights, the Stanley Park Christmas Train, is another Vancouver holiday tradition for families. I melt like Frosty in summer over the sight of 2 million twinkly lights illuminating Vancouver’s 1000-acre urban park, visible as you ride the park’s Mini Train.
