Saturday, March 9 the Jericho Beach parking lot at West 2nd and Wallace will transform into an International Women’s Day celebration and a call for child care. The family-friendly event with a rally and parade is organized by the BC Federation of Labour, CUPE BC, BCGEU and Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC.

Everyone is encouraged to come “make noise” for affordable public child care with the Carnival Band from 11:00-11:30am. After the rally, the group will then march to Christy Clark’s office on West 4th and Dunbar. The event is expected to end by noon.

Members from each organization will speak. Prizes will be handed out for the best decorated strollers and bikes. Refreshments will be provided.
