It’s last call for the Neighbourhood Small Grants deadline Sunday, March 31. For the last two years Westside residents have been able to apply for grants between $50-1,000 for projects that bring community members together or that “green” our beautiful neighbourhood. The Neighbourhood Small Grants Program is funded by the Vancouver Foundation and the City of Vancouver. The Westside Neighbourhood Small Grants are administered by the Kitsilano Neighbourhood House and a volunteer Resident Advisory Committee who promote, decide on grants and organize the end of year celebration.
In a short time, the Westside has seen some fun and community-building projects happen like Nathan’s Yarn Bombing Workshop, Mary’s “Bee line” tours of local bee hives and the Multicultural Food Lovers who cook recipes from their country of origin to share with the rest of the diverse group.
Now it’s your turn! Get financial support to make your awesome ideas for a community project a reality: Apply for your own small grant and encourage your friends, family, neighbours and strangers to apply for a small grant too! What are you waiting for?
