I used to go to Poke Community Acupuncture on Main Street to get my “acupuncture fix”. I love their big open room and circle of lazy boys and blankets where you can plop done and be seen by a certified acupuncturist.
Some people have asked me if it was weird being treated with other people in the room. My answer is no as long as you keep all your clothes on, get cozy in your chair, get treated by your acupuncturist and then just zone out for a while. The very best part is that they make it accessible to almost everyone by providing treatments on a sliding scale.
The good news for us Kits folks is that we now have Kitsilano Community Acupuncture (KCA) in the neighbourhood. Located on West Broadway and Bayswater, they offer staggered lazy boys and acupuncture on a sliding scale of $20-40 per session. If that is more than you can afford, the good people at KCA still welcome you to come in. I am loving the good vibrations I get from this place already and will be going for my first appointment very soon!
For those of you wanting more information about Kitsilano Community Acupuncture, you can call them at 604.428.1260 or visit them at 2948 West Broadway. Enjoy!
