This autumn, Vancouver becomes home to a brand new classical music series, Müzewest Concerts, that emphasizes community, affordability and access. Müzewest’s first recital showcases international prize-winning pianist Alexander Karpeyev. Karpeyev will take the stage at the West Point Grey United Church on November 15, 2013.
“Müzewest is different from other concert series’ because we’ve worked very hard to make it affordable while also focusing on music education,” notes artistic director Jennifer West.
“We believe that access to high caliber music events should be available for all socioeconomic backgrounds – and that’s why we have chosen to price tickets for our first recital from $7 to $20,” elaborated co-artistic director Diana Chan.
Karpeyev ignites audiences around the world with his electrifying rendition of classical greats. The artist has given recitals in major venues in the United Kingdom, and performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Belgium, Greece, Japan, Poland, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine and the United States. This recital marks his first coveted performance on Canadian soil.
