Vancouver Ranked Best City in North America for Quality of Life

v2Lists get clicks.  And so another list put together by Mercer benchmarks quality of life in cities throughout the world. According to their most recent findings, Vancouver is the best city in North America for quality of life. The survey looks at several factors such as personal freedom, crime, political stability and air quality. As we recently reported, the Economist Intelligence Unit just found that Vancouver is also North America’s most expensive city. We leave causation vs. correlation in your capable hands.

From Mercer: Canadian cities dominate North America’s top-five list. Ranking fifth globally, Vancouver tops the regional list, followed by Ottawa (14), Toronto (15), Montreal (23), and San Francisco (27). The region’s lowest-ranking city is Mexico City (122), preceded by four US cities: Detroit (70), St. Louis (67), Houston (66), and Miami (65). Mr Parakatil commented: “On the whole, North American cities offer a high quality of living and are attractive working destinations for companies and their expatriates. A wide range of consumer goods are available, and infrastructures, including recreational provisions, are excellent.
