When you think of going green in Vancouver, you’re usually referring to the city’s initiative to become the most eco-friendly city by 2020. On St. Patrick’s Day March 17, however, we’re talking about the best place to have a (possibly green) beer and celebrate all things Irish.
Here are the 5 best Irish pubs in Vancouver to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

5 Best Irish Pubs to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Vancouver
1. The Irish Heather Gastropub
A sophisticated take on the usual green beer theme, the Irish Heather in Gaolers Mews in Gastown offers draught Guinness and a lengthy whisky list. You can also fill up on Irish eats such as shepherd’s pie, steak and ale pie and Irish soda bread.
2. Doolin’s Irish Pub
Doolin’s pub teams up with CelticFest Vancouver, who organizes the annual Vancouver St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The result of this partnership is five packed days of St. Patrick’s Day revelry, March 12 – 17, with live bands, Celtic music, dancers and Irish food.
3. The Blarney Stone
This cheesy Irish pub throws one of the most festive St. Patrick’s Day celebrations from Saturday, March 15 through Monday, March 17, with green suds, Irish dancers, tons of live music, street performers and more. It’s kinda like being in the middle of one big drunken parade, if you like that sorta thing.
4. Ceili’s Irish Pub and Restaurant
Both Vancouver locations (Kitsilano and Granville) have Irish-themed entertainment and drink specials. The distinguishing factor: this is Vancouver’s largest Irish pub offering Western Canada’s largest St. Patrick’s Day party.
5. St. Patrick’s Day Club Crawl
You don’t have to pick a pub or plan your own transportation when you commit to a Vancouver St. Patrick’s Day club crawl, which takes place March 15 and 17. Typically popular with students, the $25 tickets get party-goers entrance to four night clubs including Roxy Nightclub and the Blarney Stone.
