Vancouver’s social calendar heats up in summertime with a slew of free events and festivals. Most of the fun starts this month, so we couldn’t resist sharing 5 more fun June events in Vancouver. Here’s what you need to know!

5 More Unmissable June Events in Vancouver

1. Italian Day on Commercial Drive: June 8
We’ve got the Greeks, they’ve got the Italians. Head over to Commercial Drive between Venebles and Grandview to participate in the free celebration. The theme this year is made-in-Italy.  The festivities includes fashion, music, history-in-our-backyard talks, food vendors (not free) and a Little Italy Kids Zone with face painting and crafts.

2. Vancouver Draw Down: June 14

Every year, folks drawing, regardless of age or skills. 18 arts and cultural organizations across Vancouver will host over 35 diverse, hands-on drawing workshops. You can attend as many as you like. Then share your work with other participants using#DrawDown #DailyDrawing hashtags.

3. Vancouver International Jazz Festival: June 20-July 1
Over half a million people participate int his internationally-renowned jazz festival that features takes place at venues throughout Vancouver. Find out more about this year’s artists and how to get tickets here. But you don’t need tickets to participate in many events. 150 performances are free!

4. Vancouver Summer Food Cart Fest: June 22-August 31
Fish tacos. Mojito popsicles. Fried chicken with garlic and namjin sauce. Fresh-pressed aloe and pineapple juice. Go taste summer from Vancouver’s best food trucks at Food Cart Fest on Sundays starting June 22.

5. Free Salsa and Ballroom Dancing at Robson Square: June 27-August 29
Head to Robson Square (across from the Vancouver Art Gallery) on Fridays from June 27 for free ballroom dancing lessons which take place every at 8pm. You don’t need a date. Many folks show up solo. Then enjoy demo shows at 9pm and 10pm. On Sundays, strictly ballroom switches to strictly salsa. Free salsa lessons are at 3pm, performances at 5pm. Social dancing takes place in between.
