It’s hard for kids to get tired of Kitsilano’s beaches and playgrounds in the summer, but if you want to take advantage of some organized activities, check out the summer programs at West Side Family Place, Kitsilano Neighbourhood House and Trimble Park.
3 Fun and Easy Places to Take Your Kids in Summer
1. Kitsilano Neighbourhood House’s summer parent and tots program is running at Tatlow Park, at McDonald Street and 2nd Avenue, every sunny Monday and Friday, July 4 – August 22 from 10:00-11:30am. There are tons of organized outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and a circle time as well as the playground equipment to play on; and parents can get to know other parents in the community.

The enormous covered sandbox, playhouses and arts and crafts room are firm favourites with the kids and parents can enjoy a coffee and snack donated by Starbucks. Circle Time, a fun and interactive gathering with songs and stories, happens at 11:30 am and at 2:30pm during the afternoon drop-Ins. The 1st visit is free and thereafter the drop-in fee is $2 per family per visit with membership.
