Vancouver has a ton of stuff going on for Halloween – everything from haunted houses to haunted amusement parks, from bar hops to club crawls, from house parties to dance parties, this city has got Halloween covered. We’ve scoured Kitsilano to find the best events taking place in our neighbourhood, for those of us who want to celebrate without venturing too far from home. Here are our top picks for Halloween events in Kits:

Top 4 Halloween Events in Kitsilano

1) The Bimini
If you’re in the mood for a night of drinks on the dance floor but don’t want to make the trek downtown, then Bim’s is the place for you. “A Nightmare on West 4th” is taking place at this Donnelly pub/club from 10pm to 3am on Halloween night, and is sure to be a good time with a special guest DJ, prizes for costumes, and delicious drink deals (like $4 pumpkin beer).

2) The Regal Beagle
If you want a house party vibe but don’t have the house, then The Regal Beagle’s “Halloween House Party” on Friday is the perfect pick. No cover, a resident DJ, costume prizes, and doubles on special for $6.70 all add up to make an easy, affordable, and wild night of Halloween fun.
The Regal Beagle, 2281 W Broadway, 604-739-0677, www.thebeagle.ca

3) King’s Head
If you want pretty much your typical Friday night with the added amusement of getting all dressed up, then don your costume and head over to the King’s Head. Their real Halloween event is taking place Wednesday the 29th, with a spooky themed open mic night, but Friday will also offer some festive drink specials to a pub full of witches and zombies.
The King’s Head, 1618 Yew St., 604-736-6966, www.thekingsheadkits.com

4) Home
If going out isn’t your style but you still want to get in the scary spirit, then you can make your own festive fun at home with some of my favourite Halloween staples. Stick on a classic horror movie (Psycho, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Blair Witch Project – all will give you chills), and cuddle up with some creepy snacks. Try a red blood cocktail (Chambord raspberry liquor, vodka, and cranberry juice) alongside some black and orange nibbles (dried mangoes dipped in dark chocolate). (Or go grab a pint of pumpkin pie ice cream from Rain or Shine!)
