Screen Shot 2015-03-11 at 10.52.31 PMWe were recently added to the AnnaLena PR list, most likely because we got some intel wrong in our last post on the restaurant opening. As we said before, AnnaLena is the new 65-seat restaurant venture by former Oakwood Chef Mike Robbins. But they didn’t open Tuesday which was a detail we re-shared from Scout; the press release says doors will be open this Friday, March 13.

The release gave more info on the food Robbins is going for. You can check out the full dinner menu below. The chef “plans to stay true to his favourite food genre: modern Canadian cuisine. Described by Robbins as “food influenced by a melting-pot of cultures, flavour profiles and techniques, and one that uses largely Canadian ingredients.

Plates range from $5 to $36 inviting diners to mix and match creative dishes like: 48 degree oysters, shaved foie gras, compressed apple, jalapeño mignonette;  pickle brine fried chicken, horseradish maple aioli, dill powder; lamb roulade, house made ricotta, olive brined spinach, gnocchi lamb jus, xo sauce; and wagyu rump, roasted mushrooms, Jerusalem artichokes, mushy peas, natural jus.  A tightly curated selection of desserts will also be on offer, featuring plates like: chocolate creme brulee, salted caramel, torn white cake and fermented cherries.”
