The Kitsilano location of Hapa Izakaya closed Sunday. Co-owner Justin Ault shared a farewell video and message on Facebook:
“Lea and I offer our profound appreciation to our staff, neighbours and regulars who have contributed so much to the success of Hapa Kits over the years. We are going to miss our second restaurant baby but look forward to new opportunities.”

Hapa’s first location opened on Robson in 2003. Last year, Hapa’s Kitsilano location rebranded as Hapa Beach. Hapa still has three Vancouver locations as well a restaurants in Toronto and Calgary.
