Now that the Thanksgiving weekend is behind us and we are full swing into autumn, here are four fall-themed things to do this weekend in and around Kitsilano.

4 Things to do in Kits this Weekend

Friday, October 16th
The annual fall Kaboodles Toy Store sale has started and is on until Sunday, October 18th. Almost everything is 25% off including craft supplies, dolls, puzzles, wooden toys, train sets, and much more. This is a great opportunity to stock up on Christmas gifts. Kaboodles has three locations close by our neighbourhood (Granville Island, Point Grey, and Mount Pleasant).

Saturday, October 17th
Come celebrate the International Year of Light at UBC. The UBC Department of Physics & Astronomy will host free public lectures and lab tours from 1pm-4:30pm and all are welcome. Have all your light-related questions answered such as: What is light? Where did light come from and where is it going?

The popular UBC Apple Festival is on this weekend as well, running both Saturday and Sunday, October 17th and 18th, from 11am-4pm. At $4 per person (with children 12 and under free), this festival gets packed each year. It’s family-friendly with a children’s zone, food vendors, entertainment, and of course, plenty of apple tasting. You can even buy an apple tree or two!

Sunday, October 18th
The second to last Kitsilano Farmers Market is on this Sunday, October 18th. Come get your root veggies, squashes (including pumpkins!), apples, and more. As always, there will be food trucks, music, and lots of goodies to purchase as well.
