With the weather warming up and longer daylight hours extending into the evening, why not make Wednesday nights your take-out dinner night, and have it at the beach?
No cooking, no cleaning, no mess. Plus the dogs, kids, and/or roommates can run around while you enjoy a tasty and convenient meal from one of these great Kitsilano restaurants.
1. Pizzas and Pastas
We’ve got some wonderful options for perfectly portion-sized pizzas and comforting pastas in our neighbourhood. Our picks are Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co. (excellent kid’s meals here too), NOVO, and Bibo for pizza, and Basil Pasta Bar for, you guessed it, pasta (plus it’s two blocks from Kits Beach, making it extra convenient).
2. Sandwiches and Wraps
For a simple take-out meal that’s easy on the wallet, try Tractor, Terra Breads, or Plaisir Sucre for sandwiches that are hearty and healthy (please note that Terra Breads and Plaisir Sucre close early). For a more exotic flavour, try East is East‘s roti rolls.
3. Noodles and Rice Bowls
A take-out meal is always more fun when served straight out of a box like Noodlebox‘s containers, and Banana Leaf‘s portion of nasi goreng is quite generous. For a vegetarian option, try one of The Naam‘s Dragon Bowls.
4. Burgers and Fries
Forget the beach concession stands and get your burger and fries from Moderne Burger, Romer’s, or Tera V Burger instead.
Please do make sure to dispose of your take-out litter properly, bring a waterproof picnic blanket to sit on, and don’t forget to bring dessert!
