Kidsbooks recently opened in a new bigger space at 2557 West Broadway, and the 5,000 square foot shop is getting rave reviews from all ages. Not only is it next to Thomas Haas, which makes it easy to pair it with coffee and an indulgent treat, it has books for the entir family. Yes, there’ s lots of skillfully-curated picks for tiny people. You can also find the a well-stocked teen section, the hippest cookbooks, adult bestsellers, and even pajamas for your bedtime stories.
Designed by Edison & Sprinkles, the space is so welcoming and attractive, you won’t want to rush it. Custom bookshelves, lots of reading nooks, modern lighting, bright geometric floors, and more make you want to crack open a title and take your time deciding.
Kidsbooks was founded in 1983 by former librarian, Phyllis Simon. In 1987 moved to its flagship Kitsilano location at West Broadway and Balaclava Street. In February it completed its move to the larger Kits retail space after it was announced that their lease in the former space would not be renewed as the building was to be demolished.
