If you don’t make your annual trip to Sweden this year, not to worry. Upscale Swedish outdoor fashion brand Fjällräven has opened a flagship at 1976 West 4th Avenue. It’s not local, and it’s not independent, but man those Kånken backpacks are cute.
The store carries men’s and women’s apparel, and accessories like belts, wallets, hiking caps, and laptop cases. Brands such as Hanwag, Helle, Stanley, and Shwood Eyewear—the first two of which are owned by Fjällräven’s parent company, Fenix Outdoor—are also available.
There’s an opening party Thursday, July 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests will receive 20 percent off all purchases, and have a chance to win giveaways. Complimentary Swedish-inspired appetizers will be provided by Railtown Catering, and Postmark Brewing will supply drinks.
