Once upon a time, our fine Kitsilano neighbourhood was nicknamed the “Haight-Ashbury of the north”.
Referring to, of course, the 1960s and 70s hippy hood of California’s San Francisco.
Now relive those gloriously laid-back and groovy times at the annual Khatsahlano Street Party – Vancouver’s largest free music and arts festival. And it’s coming to fill West 4th on Saturday, July 8th from 11:00am till 9:00pm, from Burrard to MacDonald Street.
Multiple stages will be showcasing more than 50 of Vancouver’s top musical performers including headliners The Zolas (indie rock), The Courtneys (indie pop), the legendary D.O.A. (punk), and Louise Burns (folk).
And expect to see wonderful works by local artisans, unique street performers, a wide variety of food trucks, giveaways, entertainment for kids, beer gardens, special sales at local shops, and loads and loads of people watching.
