Vancouver police are looking for witnesses to a fatal crash on the Burrard Street Bridge early Tuesday morning that left one person dead and two others in serious condition in hospital.
The bridge has been closed in both directions indefinitely as police investigate the fiery two-vehicle crash.
The bridge is blocked to drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. There is no time estimate for when it will reopen.
Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is asked to call the VPD at 604-717-3321.
UPDATE: The accident was a head-on collision between a taxi and an Audi R8 sports car. The Audi was traveling north on the bridge when the driver lost control, crossed the centre line and collided with the southbound taxi. The lone occupant of the Audi, who has not been identified, died at the scene. The 68-year-old taxi driver and his passenger, a man in his 30s, remain in hospital in serious condition.
