The Vancouver Police Department is trying to determine how a stolen truck ended up in the waters off of Kits Beach.
Police were called just after 12:30 this afternoon by a passerby who spotted tire marks in the sand leading into the water off of Kits Beach in the area of the basketball courts.
Officers were able to determine the truck was unoccupied and had been reported stolen early this morning.
We are investigating a suspicious circumstance at Kits beach. The low tide has exposed a unoccupied, stolen pick-up truck in the water. We’re waiting for a tow truck & are working with @ParkBoard & @CoastGuardCAN to ensure the impact on the environment is minimal. #VPD
