Tis the season for heaving crowds in shops, twelve million cars on the road and drivers that are apparently competing for the title of “most run over pedestrians at Burrard and 4th”.
Add to the fact that a lot of you have that one person in your life that is “the coffee person”. They’re a nightmare to buy for because there’s no way they’d be seen dead drinking dark roast. A Starbucks cup, as beautiful as they can be, is sacrilege to this person. And don’t get me started on what they’ll think of you if you say “but everyone tells me that McDonalds has surprisingly good coffee. I thought a McCafe gift card would be perfect”.
But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Here’s a list of some incredible gifts you can get for that coffee snob in your life and where you can get them in Kits (or close by).
A gift voucher to 35 coffee shops
Full disclosure – this is my company but trust me, this is a killer option for you to choose. Siply vouchers range from $10 to $40 and there are a bunch of Kits and surrounding area shops included in it.
Pallet Coffee Roasters, KAHVE, Olive and Ruby, Sweet Barrel and Perchance are just a few of the shops included in the Kits area, with Nemesis, Timbertrain, Rocanini and many more elsewhere across the city.
A KAHVE X Barn Coffee Gift Set
I’ve been consistently amazed by how great the coffee is from The Barn Coffee Roasters. One of the only places to get this coffee (which by the way is from Berlin) is in KAHVE on West 1st and Burrard.
The box consists of:
- 6 X 50g bags of coffee
- The Barn tote bag
- Booklet
- A brewing guide and coffee info cards
The price is $37.95 but flash the Siply app when you buy it and you’ll get a 15% discount.
You can buy these in their shop at 1822 West 1st Ave.
A Perchance Coffee Brewing Kit
OK so technically they’re next door in Dunbar, but stop being picky. This is the perfect gift for someone that wants to get into really high-end home brewing. With this kit they’re going to be able to get really close to the results of a swanky coffee shop.
The price is $210 and it includes a kettle, carafe, dripper and portable grinder.
You can buy this in their shop at 3363 Dunbar Street.
Pallet Coffee Roasters Holiday Coffee
Pallet is my goto place to recommend when you want to buy someone a bag of coffee but you don’t know what kind of bean they like. That’s because everything they roast is amazing. Their Holiday blends are no exception and look at that lovely wrap-around label. Awwww.
You can buy these in person for $21 at any of their shops, including their Kits location at 2002 West Broadway. $2 of every bag is being donated to the Santa Clara Scholarship Program, so you can feel like a do-gooder as well as a coffee snob.
The best reusable cups ever at Their There
Let’s be honest, there are a million reusable cups out there but look at these little beauties:
You can pick these up in person for $29 at their shop at 2042 West 4th Avenue.
