At a virtual meeting today Vancouver council unanimously approved special measures which include fines up to $1,000 for individuals failing to honour safety orders to stand at least two metres away from anyone else during the coronavirus pandemic.
Businesses that do not comply with orders from the Provincial Health Officer or the City of Vancouver can also be fined up to $50,000 for violating COVID-19 related orders.
The time for asking nicely is over.
Just now, Council passed new enforcement measures including fines of up to $50,000 for anyone found in violation of a City Order.
This is serious.
