**** May 19, 2021: CLICK HERE FOR SUMMER 2021 UPDATE ****
————-
Kits Pool officially opens for the season on Monday, July 13th.
Not surprisingly, we’ve had dozens of Kitsilano.ca readers reach out to inquire about when reservations will open for everyone’s favorite outdoor pool.
The Vancouver Park Board has now confirmed that reservations will open on Sunday, July 12th at 9:30am.
Ticket sales will begin at 9:30am daily for time slots on the following day.
According to the Park Board, Kits Pool will reopen for a combination of designated lap swimming sessions and public swimming sessions.
Swimmers must arrive “swim ready” as change rooms will not be open and physical distancing protocols will be in place at entrances and exits and throughout the pools’ facilities. Washrooms will remain open for users.
Casual swimmers can book a 90 minute swim block, while lap swimmers can book for a 45 minute swim session. There will be a 30 minute buffer between swim periods during which time the facilities will be sanitized and prepared for the next group.
Admission to pools will be managed through a combination of an online reservation system and in-person drop-ins, all with contactless electronic payment.

Thank you! Excellent news. What are the pool hours? That is, will it be open for reservations between 6:30 am and 7 pm?
Hello,
I spoke with Parks and Recreation this morning to get clarity regarding the availability of the upcoming pool reservation system. Just wanted to let you know that this sentence is incorrect: “Only Leisure Access Pass holders will be provided with access to the reservation system.” The reservation system will be open to everyone. Thanks, Rita
@Rita – Thanks for clarifying. Article updated.
Hi there – just to clarify – online booking opens at 9:30 am (not 9 as you have reported)
thanks,
Christine Ulmer

@Christine – thanks for clarifying – updated!
Pathetic…..pool is “sold out”……saw 4 swimmers in the swim lanes, a few sunning themselves on the deck.
ExpectIng the Parks board to organize anything is quite simply bizarre
I wanted to sign-up for morning lap swim (ideally 8am), but can’t find how to do this online. I went to the pool early today but was told that I can only book online. Can I, in fact, just go before 8am and hope to get into the next lap swim. This is all rather confusing? Ron
Hey Ron the website is not intuitive, go to the pool site, you have to reserve the day before after 0930, select swimming ( not LAP, thats swimming for poor folks) . Look carefully at the date that is greyed out, ( normally greyed out means not selectable) click on the day, the field becomes alive and you can change the date for the next day. Stupid stuff to remember, they close the bathrooms 15 mins before they close the swim session. They announce they are closing the session, but now you’ll be unable to take a use the facilities. They will tell you , you can use the public washroom by the consession. All in the name of safety, but the public washroom appears to have never been cleaned, so much for you safety.
