Toronto’s Mejuri is setting up shop in Vancouver.
The jewelry brand’s first location on the West Coast will be in Kitsilano at 2166 West 4th Avenue and open on Friday, December 10th.
“Vancouver is one of our top cities in Canada and has been on our retail roadmap for quite some time,” Noura Sakkijha, the founder of Mejuri, told the Vancouver Sun.
“We saw so much success when we launched our seven-day pop-up back in 2019; we were able to connect with our community in real life and we’re so excited to see them again.”
When the brand opened a temporary store on Main Street that year, Sakkijha says the company saw a nearly 300 per cent increase in ecommerce activity from shoppers in B.C.
“Our community there is very engaged with us on social media, and have been asking us to come back,” Sakkijha says of its local shopping base. “ Even with the pandemic, there has been a huge appetite for retail from our customers.”
When it came time for the team to pinpoint a location for the boutique, Sakkijha says Kitsilano was an easy pick.
“Kitsilano is one of Vancouver’s most coveted neighbourhoods, with the largest collection of fashion and lifestyle retailers,” she says. “It is an urban downtown setting with a great neighbourhood and community-focused feel.
“We love that our customers can buy and wear their 14-karat gold pieces and then head to the beach or their favourite workout studio in the area.”
